On September 27th, Li Kaifu, CEO of Zero One AI, expressed at the 20th anniversary celebration of the Yangtze River CEO Organization that the core contribution of DeepSeek to the development of AI in China lies in the promotion of the formation of an open source ecosystem. "If we look back in ten years and see how DeepSeek has prevented China from falling behind the United States, the answer is not its technological capabilities alone, but the era of open source that it has brought to China." Li Kaifu mentioned that since DeepSeek went open source, many domestic companies have successively open sourced large models, forming a benign competition situation of "both open source and competing in speed". He believes that the open source model is highly in line with the learning characteristics of Chinese companies, and is expected to help China narrow the gap with the United States in the field of AI.
