Gansu Earthquake Relief Headquarters initiates level four emergency response for the 5.6 magnitude earthquake in Longxi.

A 5.6 magnitude earthquake occurred in Longxi County, Dingxi City, Gansu Province at 5:49 am this morning. After the earthquake, the Gansu Provincial Earthquake Relief Command activated a Level 4 emergency response, the Dingxi City Earthquake Relief Command office activated a Level 3 response, and more than 50 cadres have been dispatched to conduct disaster assessment in Longxi County and Wenfeng Town. Preliminary information indicates that there was significant collapse of earth walls in Hualin Village, Wenfeng Town, and some brick and wooden houses have roof tiles falling off, with no reports of casualties. It is reported that three communication base stations in Longxi County were damaged and are currently being repaired. The Longxi Oil Depot did not suffer significant damage, and within 100 kilometers of the epicenter, there are 15 mining companies and 4 aluminum processing companies, all of which are operating normally. Other situations are still being further investigated and assessed.
