After "anti-myopia" workbooks became "harmful to the eyes," two companies in Shaoyang City recently recalled some educational series workbooks and offered free returns and exchanges, involving more than 110,000 books. According to the website of the Hunan Provincial Administration for Market Regulation, Shaodong County Education Paper Printing Co., Ltd. reported the recall plan to the Hunan Provincial Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the requirements of the Interim Provisions on Consumer Product Recall Management: from September 9, 2025 to November 8, 2025, recalling educational series workbooks produced from October 12, 2020 to October 25, 2020, involving 17,000 32K student diaries and 8,000 32K English books, totaling 25,000 books. Hunan Huanmei Paper Co., Ltd. also reported the recall plan proactively: from August 29, 2025 to November 28, 2025, recalling some Huanmei workbooks produced from June 5, 2024 to March 3, 2025, involving 17,500 books on June 5, 2024, 12,000 books on December 27, 2024, 14,000 math books on February 28, 2025, 12,000 English books on February 28, 2025, 8,200 books on March 2, 2025, 19,000 math books on March 3, 2025, 10,000 double grid books on March 3, 2025, totaling 92,700 books.
