Russian Kremlin spokesperson Peskov responded to US President Trump's statement that Turkey would abandon Russian natural gas by stating that Turkey will continue to trade with Russia in areas that are beneficial to them, such as the natural gas sector. Peskov said, "The TurkStream pipeline is operating at full capacity, and the Blue Stream pipeline is also operating at full capacity." Peskov also stated, "We will continue to maintain trade and economic cooperation with Turkey. Turkey is a sovereign country and decides on its own in which areas to cooperate with us. If Turkey believes that certain types of trade in specific goods are profitable, then it will continue to purchase those goods."
