Fiberglass giant NGC plans to build a solar photovoltaic glass production line in Egypt worth 1.755 billion.

In 2025, the ninth temporary meeting of the board of directors of China Southern Glass Group Co., Ltd. was held in a remote communication form, and passed the resolution on "Proposal on Investing in Building a Photovoltaic Glass Production Line in Egypt". With the global photovoltaic manufacturing capacity moving towards "regional diversification", Southern Glass Group has nearly 20 years of experience in photovoltaic glass manufacturing, with significant technological advantages. Egypt has outstanding location and resource advantages, aligning with the "Belt and Road" initiative. The company plans to invest 1.755 billion yuan in building a new photovoltaic glass production line in Egypt, planning to construct a 1,400T/D one kiln five line photovoltaic rolled glass and supporting four tempered coating processing production lines, with an estimated construction period of three years. The project still needs government approval and may face risks such as policy and financing.
