Sanya maritime department initiates level III response to typhoon, passenger ships will suspend operations completely.
This year's 20th typhoon, "Boluo Yi", is expected to enter the eastern waters of the South China Sea in the early morning of the 27th, reaching typhoon or strong typhoon level at its strongest, gradually strengthening its impact on the jurisdictional waters of Sanya. The Sanya Maritime Bureau has activated a level III response to typhoon prevention at 12:00 today, and is expected to suspend all passenger ships at 14:00 tomorrow. In order to ensure the safety of water traffic in the jurisdictional area, the Sanya Maritime Bureau has issued warning information through multiple channels, reminding ships and related units to strengthen emergency duty and closely monitor meteorological information. In preparation for emergency situations, two professional rescue ships have been coordinated and are on standby. It is reported that the 10 offshore platforms in the jurisdiction of Sanya are mainly concentrated in the southern waters of Sanya, severely affected by the typhoon. Currently, 68 non-essential personnel have been evacuated, and the remaining 1,115 people are being evacuated gradually, with the evacuation expected to be completed before 18:00 on the 27th.
