Two departments jointly released the "List of Soil Toxic and Hazardous Substances Subject to Key Control".

Recently, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the National Health Commission jointly issued the "List of Key Control Toxic and Hazardous Substances in Soil". Article 20 of the Soil Pollution Prevention and Control Law of the Peoples Republic of China stipulates that "the competent department of ecological environment of the State Council shall, in conjunction with the competent department of health of the State Council, conduct screening and assessment of toxic and hazardous substances in the soil based on the degree of harm and impact on public health and ecological environment, and publish the list of soil toxic and hazardous substances to be key controlled and updated in a timely manner". The formulation of the "List" is a clear requirement of the Soil Pollution Prevention and Control Law, and it is of great significance to further ensure the safety of the soil environment and strengthen the monitoring and supervision of key controlled toxic and hazardous substances.
