Textile Business Association: Support for investigation into trade and investment barriers against Mexico related to China restrictions
On September 26, the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles issued a statement stating that on September 25, 2025, the Ministry of Commerce issued Announcement No. 53 of 2025, initiating a trade and investment barrier investigation into Mexico's related restrictions on China. The China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles is highly concerned about this investigation and firmly supports the necessary measures taken by the Chinese government in response to Mexico's unilateral imposition of tariffs. The China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles stated that at a time when there is global opposition to the excessive use of tariffs by the United States, the Mexican government's proposal to raise tariff rates on China and other non-free trade partners will not only severely damage the trade and investment interests of Chinese companies, seriously affect the certainty of the Mexican business environment, reduce business confidence in investing in Mexico, but also severely impact industrial cooperation between China and Mexico. the Chinese textile and garment industry strongly opposes this. In the future, the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles will actively cooperate with the Ministry of Commerce to conduct the investigation in accordance with the law and uphold the rightful and legal rights and interests of the Chinese textile and garment industry.
