Radio and Television Administration: The number of users of short micro-dramas in China has reached 696 million.
The State Council Information Office held a series of thematic press conferences on "high-quality completion of the '14th Five-Year Plan" yesterday. According to the General Administration of Press and Publication, during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, micro-dramas have become an important new popular art form, with rapid developments in both user and market size. According to market research institutions, as of July this year, the user base for micro-dramas in China has reached 696 million. The market size is expected to achieve even greater breakthroughs this year based on last year's 50 billion yuan, with a trend of richer themes and higher quality productions in micro-dramas. Various regions are increasing their support for this new format, with 14 provinces in the country having introduced policies to support the development of micro-dramas. Through resource integration, creative guidance, and other methods, high-quality development of micro-dramas is being promoted. In order to further regulate the development order, relevant departments are currently formulating the "Micro-Drama Management Measures," which are planned to be issued in the form of departmental regulations. Special governance and regular supervision will be carried out to promptly address violations such as the "tyrant" character, sensational plots, or titles that seek attention.
