Bolivian President Arce attended the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly on the 25th and delivered a speech condemning the United States for pursuing a "new Monroe Doctrine" in an attempt to regain control of Latin America and the Caribbean region and make them subjugated to US interests. Arce stated that the US government's insistence on restoring US hegemony in the Western Hemisphere is a "new form of Monroe Doctrine," with its essence still being the hegemonic logic of "America for Americans." In doing so, the United States is willing to deviate from free trade and globalization trends and attempt to turn Latin America into a "dam" hindering the construction of a multipolar world to serve US interests.
