Representatives from the US-China Business Council, the National Committee on US-China Relations, the US Chamber of Commerce, the Council on Foreign Relations, as well as scholars and business leaders attended the meeting.
After carefully listening to the remarks of the American representatives, Li Keqiang expressed that the China-US relationship is the most important bilateral relationship in the world, and the two countries can and should be partners and friends. Looking back at history, the friendly exchanges between China and the US have been mainstream and overarching. Looking to the future, China and the US need to find the correct way to coexist in this new era. As President Xi Jinping said, the vast Pacific Ocean can accommodate China, the US, and other countries. As two major global powers, China and the US should respect each other, coexist peacefully, cooperate for mutual benefit, and achieve common prosperity through mutual accomplishments. Economic and trade relations are an important part of the bilateral relationship. China and the US have significant differences in market and industrial structures, but their complementary strengths make them essential players in the global industrial chain. Strengthening economic and trade cooperation between the two countries will benefit the world.
Li Keqiang pointed out that China has the confidence and ability to maintain stable and healthy economic development, creating more opportunities for companies from all countries, including the US. Regardless of changing external environments, China will do its best to provide more certainty for the development of foreign companies. Firstly, China will always maintain a constructive and responsible attitude, and work with the US on the basis of equality, respect, and mutual benefit to promote the stabilization and improvement of China-US economic and trade relations. Secondly, China will focus on development, pushing for steady economic growth. With its unique mechanism for stable operation, China's market potential is rapidly being unleashed, innovation continues to flourish, and economic vitality is constantly increasing - all of which offer significant and predictable development opportunities for companies. Thirdly, China will always adhere to its commitments, steadfastly expanding its opening-up to the outside world, continuously easing market access, expanding imports, actively addressing concerns of foreign companies, helping to solve actual difficulties, and enabling businesses from all countries to operate and develop in China with peace of mind.
Li Keqiang emphasized that the foundation of China-US relations lies in the people-to-people realm, and healthy development requires the joint efforts of both countries' citizens. He hopes that people from all walks of life in the US will take more positive actions to enhance mutual understanding between the two countries, expand practical cooperation in various fields, and make greater contributions to promoting the development and enhancing the friendship between the two countries.
The American participants at the meeting expressed admiration for China's achievements in economic growth, technological innovation, and social development in recent years. US-China relations concern both countries and impact the world. They hope that the US and China will maintain high-level exchanges, expand dialogue in various fields, strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation, enhance cultural exchanges, develop a long-term stable relationship between the US and China, and inject more certainty into the international community. The business community in the US is optimistic about the prospects of China's economic development and will continue to expand investments in China, playing a bridging role in promoting cooperation and mutual understanding between the two countries.
