Ministry of Commerce: conducts trade and investment barrier investigation on Mexico's relevant restriction measures related to China.

According to the app of Zhitong Finance and Economics, on September 25th, the Ministry of Commerce announced that based on preliminary evidence and information obtained by the Ministry of Commerce, a proposal to adjust multiple import taxes was published in the Mexican "Congressional Record" on September 9, 2025. The Mexican government plans to increase import tariffs on products from non-free trade partners such as China, which will seriously harm the trade and investment interests of Chinese companies. In accordance with Article 36, Article 37 of the Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China, and Articles 12 and 35 of the Rules for Investigation of Foreign Trade Barriers, the Ministry of Commerce has decided to initiate a trade and investment barrier investigation into Mexico's relevant restrictions on China starting from September 25, 2025.
