The Indian Air Force plans to urgently order 140 Sukhoi Su-57 fifth-generation fighter jets from Russia to enhance its combat capabilities. According to an article in the American magazine "Military Review" on the 24th, the Indian Ministry of Defense is assessing the plan: it intends to purchase enough Su-57 aircraft to equip two squadrons of the Air Force and to sign an agreement allowing the production of 100 Su-57 aircraft at India's Hindustan Aeronautics Limited factory in Nashik, to equip five squadrons. Each squadron of the Indian Air Force will have about 20 aircraft, which will allow for the formation of a 140-aircraft fleet of next-generation fighters, thus completely upgrading its combat capabilities.
