Cathay Pacific and its shareholders are discussing a large order for new aircraft for the next 10 years.
Cathay Pacific CEO Lin Shaobo stated that they are currently in negotiations with shareholders on a large order for new aircraft for the next 10 years. In order to meet the expansion needs of the next decade, more single-aisle jet aircraft, regional wide-body aircraft, and cargo planes are needed. Cathay Pacific had previously pledged to invest over HK$100 billion in the next few years, mainly for the purchase of new aircraft. Lin Shaobo indicated that Cathay Pacific has developed a 10-year fleet plan from 2026 to 2035, with the first 5 years already determined, and they are currently focusing on the next 5 years.
