Qualcomm Senior Vice President and General Manager of Mobile, Computing, and XR Business, Alex Katouzian, unveiled the fifth generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii. When introducing the performance of the new processor, Katouzian specifically emphasized that they will never artificially inflate benchmark scores by running devices in low-temperature environments. "We don't do that kind of thing." Katouzian is aiming to emphasize that their benchmark tests are conducted under standard, fair conditions to ensure the authenticity and reliability of the scores. This statement may be in response to some manufacturers who may optimize benchmark scores through extreme measures. Because low temperatures can lower the chip temperature and temporarily boost performance to achieve higher scores, but this does not reflect the real performance of the device in normal usage conditions.
