French media: High US tariffs deal a heavy blow to the French cosmetics industry.

According to a study by Astier Consulting, the cosmetics industry in France has a total of approximately 55,000 positions. The EU-US trade agreement may threaten 1,500 direct jobs and 3,500 indirect jobs, and could result in a loss of 300 million euros. French customs data shows that in the first half of 2025, exports of French cosmetics to the US have declined by 12%.
