The Sao Paulo Stock Exchange Index rose 0.91% to above 146,000 points, setting a new closing record high after just one trading day. At 01:00 Beijing time, it had surpassed 147,000 points, also reaching a new intraday historical high the following day. The Brazilian real rose 0.99% against the US dollar, reaching 5.2823 reals and continued to fluctuate upwards throughout the day. US President Trump said he would meet with Brazilian President Lula next week; however, Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira stated that the meeting between Lula and Trump could be conducted through a phone call or video conference, as the busy schedules of both leaders may make a face-to-face meeting difficult.
