A 5.8 magnitude earthquake occurred in the southern waters of Peru.

According to the report from the National Seismic Center of the Peruvian Geophysical Institute, at 12:39 pm local time on September 23, a 5.8 magnitude earthquake occurred about 60 kilometers southwest of Caravel Province in Arequipa Department, southern Peru, near the Pacific Ocean. The earthquake had a depth of 30 kilometers. There is currently no tsunami warning report.
