Prior to this, Turkish President Erdogan was preparing to visit the White House to meet with US President Trump before September 25. Regarding Erdogan's visit, Trump responded on social media: "We are in negotiations with the Turkish President on multiple trade and military agreements, including the purchase of a large number of Boeing aircraft and F-16 fighter jets, advancing negotiations on the F-35 project, and expecting positive progress."
