Qingdao Port, the fourth largest port in the world, once had a "heart disease" - 80% of the software and hardware of its fully automated terminals relied on imports! The procurement process took at least six months, and software upgrades only occurred once a year, severely hampering efficiency. However, Qingdao Port refused to accept this situation! In 2021, they formed 12 task forces, working with research institutes for over two years to replace over 28,000 imported components with domestically produced ones. In 2023, the fully domestically produced Phase III terminal was completed! On the fourth day of operation, the average efficiency of the quay cranes directly broke the world record! From relying 80% on imports to achieving 100% autonomy and control, domestic production not only "matched" but also surpassed!
