Minister of Education Huai Jinping stated at the press conference on "High-Quality Completion of the '14th Five-Year Plan' series" held by the State Council Information Office that they will continue to strengthen the training of top innovative talents in basic disciplines such as the "Strong Foundation Plan", and promote the construction of national experimental colleges in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, integrated circuits, and life sciences, exploring the integration of industry and education, and the convergence of science and education. They have launched the implementation of the National Basic and Interdisciplinary Breakthrough Plan, with more than 100 pilot projects already deployed in 9 major areas, and are establishing regional technology transfer and transformation centers for universities in the Yangtze River Delta, Greater Bay Area, and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei regions, constructing new research universities in an orderly manner, and co-building high-level research institutes with "Double First-Class" universities and advantageous industries in the central and western regions to serve the cultivation and development of new productive forces.
