On September 22, 2025, the Pujiang Innovation Forum - Future Health: Global Health and Development Forum was held in Shanghai. Zhang Wenhong, director of the National Center for Infectious Diseases and director of the Department of Infectious Diseases at Huashan Hospital affiliated with Fudan University, shared the team's practical achievements in high-incidence areas of tuberculosis in China at the forum: by optimizing treatment regimens, the short-term treatment cost of tuberculosis can be reduced by more than 90%, and achieving a cure rate of over 80% for multi-drug-resistant tuberculosis. Zhang Wenhong stated that the world still faces huge challenges in infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and malaria, and the current key task is to promote the application of scientific and technological innovation achievements. "We cannot leave scientific work in papers, but we need to implement it and spread it to every corner of the world. We need to overcome not only mountains and seas, but also the gap between technology and communication, ultimately breaking the global health imbalance and eliminating health inequality."
