Malaysia expects to save up to 4 billion ringgit through the reform of petrol subsidies.
According to Malaysian media reports, Malaysia can save between 2.5 billion to 4 billion ringgit per year through the implementation of petrol subsidy reforms. The report cited remarks from the Second Minister of Finance, Amir Hamzah Azizan. He stated that this is based on the expectation that the price of oil will fluctuate around $75 per barrel. Note: The government originally expected to save 8 billion ringgit, but later adjusted the plan to only exclude foreigners from the RON95 petrol subsidy.
