Amazon sues to block New York state labor law
Amazon filed a lawsuit on Monday against the New York State Public Employment Relations Board, seeking to block the Board from enforcing a new law that the online retailer believes is an attempt to illegally regulate labor relations in the private sector. In the complaint submitted to the Brooklyn federal court, Amazon accuses the New York State Public Employment Relations Board of usurping the primary authority of the National Labor Relations Board to handle union organizing, collective bargaining, and workplace disputes, calling it an "unconstitutional power grab."
