State Nuclear Power Corporation's former chairman Wang Binghua: Reducing project costs is the most urgent challenge for the development of China's third-generation nuclear power.

"The major issue currently troubling the third generation nuclear power plants is the cost of electricity. The price of electricity depends on how to bring down the construction cost, which is a very serious and urgent issue that the industry is facing at the moment. We must handle it well." Wang Binghua, Chief Expert of the China Nuclear Energy Industry Association and former Chairman of State Power Investment Corporation Limited, emphasized this at a recent 2025 Nuclear Energy Public Communication and Exchange Conference.
