Report shows: the Yangtze River Delta has become the most dynamic region in China in terms of innovation.

At the Sub-forum on Regional Innovation Development during the 2025 Pujiang Innovation Forum, the "China Regional Science and Technology Innovation Evaluation Report 2025" was released. The report shows that China's comprehensive science and technology innovation level scored 80.20 points, an increase of 1.77 points from the previous year. Science and technology innovation input, output, and high-tech industries continue to grow, effectively promoting economic and social development. Liu Dongmei, Secretary of the Party Committee of the China Institute of Science and Technology Development Strategy, introduced that the Yangtze River Delta has become the most vigorous region in China for innovation. According to the report, Shanghai ranks first in the country in overall ranking, Jiangsu has risen to third, Zhejiang has risen to fifth, and Anhui remains at ninth. In indicators such as enterprise research and development, local financial technology expenditure, enterprise technology acquisition and transformation expenditure, high-value patent ownership, and export value of high-tech products, the Yangtze River Delta accounts for about one-third of the country.
