The Ministry of Culture and Tourism recently sent out a secret inspection team to conduct the fifth batch of secret inspections in 8 provinces including Inner Mongolia, Shanghai, Hubei, Guangxi, Yunnan, Tibet, Shaanxi, and Ningxia. It was found that there are still instances of inadequate maintenance and management of safety facilities at tourist attractions. Issues such as travel agencies and tour guides not providing tourism services as agreed in the contract were also prominent. The report stated that some tourist attractions have damaged or insufficient facilities, with safety precautions for some recreational activities being inadequate, posing significant safety risks. Some travel agencies and tour guides have been changing travel itineraries without authorization, specifying specific shopping locations, and arranging additional paid tourist activities, which affect the overall travel experience. In addition, safety hazards related to electricity use at tourist attractions and operating premises cannot be overlooked. Some tourist attractions, hotels, bed and breakfasts, and internet service businesses have exposed wires, use electricity irregularly, lack adequate protection measures, and exhibit a lack of safety awareness.
