According to the maritime department, in order to effectively respond to the impact of the typhoon, the Hainan Maritime Bureau upgraded the emergency response level from level III to level II at 12:00 on the 22nd, and notified ships and personnel at sea to return to port in a timely manner to seek shelter from the storm. Coastal ports were also instructed to strengthen wind prevention measures. Ferry transportation in the Qiongzhou Strait will be suspended at 18:00 on the 23rd. The Haikou Maritime Bureau will use the vessel traffic management system and intelligent maritime technologies for dynamic monitoring of vessel activities in the area.
