Guo Jiajun explained that 30 years ago, the Fourth World Conference on Women of the United Nations was successfully held in Beijing. To commemorate the Beijing World Conference on Women, and to promote the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, the Chinese government and UN Women jointly held the Global Summit on Women in New York at the United Nations Headquarters ten years ago. Five years ago, President Xi Jinping proposed to hold the Global Summit on Women again in 2025. From a global perspective, with 5 years left to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, the global women's cause is facing severe challenges, but also great opportunities. In the field of promoting gender equality and comprehensive development of women, China is not only an advocate but also an action-taker. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the cause of Chinese women has flourished, achieving historical accomplishments, advancing in all aspects, and demonstrating the vibrant vitality and unique advantages of the socialist women's development path with Chinese characteristics. On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Beijing World Conference on Women, China will soon host the Global Summit on Women in Beijing once again. We released the White Paper to comprehensively display China's major achievements in implementing the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, systematically introduce the principles and practices of promoting gender equality and comprehensive development of women in the new era, and showcase the striving spirit of Chinese women. We aim to contribute Chinese wisdom and share Chinese experiences to the global women's cause.
