Deputy Prime Minister Rami of the UK explained today in an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation the reasons behind him and British Prime Minister Stammer deciding to formally recognize the Palestinian state. Rami said that recognizing the Palestinian state is not just about feeding hungry children in Gaza or getting detainees released, but it also means that the UK supports the "two-state solution" and the just cause of Palestinian national liberation. Rami also mentioned that Israel's military actions in Gaza and its settlement expansion plans are not conducive to a ceasefire, and the UK cannot continue to wait for so-called "perfect conditions" to recognize the Palestinian state. Rami also stated that countries like France, Canada, Australia, and Belgium hold the same attitude as the UK. (CCTV World News)
