Spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce answers questions from reporters on the progress of the TikTok issue.
According to the Wise Finance APP, on September 20th, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce responded to questions from reporters regarding the progress of the TikTok issue. The Ministry of Commerce stated that on the evening of September 19th, the leaders of China and the United States had a phone call, candidly and extensively exchanging views on the current China-US relations and issues of common concern, and providing strategic guidance for the stable development of China-US relations in the next stage. China's position on the TikTok issue is clear - the Chinese government respects the will of the enterprise, is happy to see the business negotiate on a commercial basis in compliance with market rules, and reach a solution that conforms to Chinese laws and regulations as well as balances interests. It is hoped that the U.S. side and the Chinese side will meet each other halfway, effectively fulfill their respective commitments, provide an open, fair, just, and non-discriminatory business environment for Chinese companies operating in the U.S., including TikTok, and promote the stable, healthy, and sustainable development of China-US economic and trade relations.
