Shenzhen's virtual power plant has an adjustable capacity of 1.3 million kilowatts, accounting for over 5.4% of the city's highest power grid load ratio, making it the highest in the country.
At the 2025 International Digital Energy Exhibition, it was learned that the adjustable capacity of Shenzhen's virtual power plant has reached 1.3 million kilowatts, accounting for over 5.4% of the city's peak load ratio, which is currently the highest in the country. This also means that during peak electricity consumption periods, the Shenzhen virtual power plant can play a greater role in reducing peak demand. For example, if a household simultaneously turns on two 1-horsepower air conditioners during the summer peak, it is equivalent to guaranteeing the electricity consumption of air conditioners for 870,000 households.
