Federal Reserve Board Member Milan emphasized the independent stance of cutting interest rates by 50 basis points.
On Friday, Federal Reserve Board Governor Stephen Milan stated that before the announcement of this week's Federal Reserve interest rate decision, he had only briefly communicated with President Trump and had not been pressured in his voting position. Milan voted against a 25 basis point rate cut in this decision, advocating for a doubling of the rate cut. He emphasized that his decision was made independently. "He called me on Tuesday morning just to say congratulations, that's all," Milan said. "We never discussed how I should vote, or my stance in the 'dot plot' of the Federal Reserve economic projections."
