Guangdong: From January to August, the added value of industrial enterprises above a designated size in the province increased by 2.2% year-on-year.
According to the Guangdong Statistics Public Account's release of the economic overview of Guangdong in August 2025, from January to August, the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size in the province increased by 2.2% year-on-year. In terms of different sectors, the added value of mining increased by 0.5%, manufacturing increased by 2.6%, and electricity, heat, gas, and water production and supply decreased by 1.8%. Key industries remained stable, with the added value of computer, communication, and other electronic equipment manufacturing growing by 7.0%, electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing growing by 6.5%, and automobile manufacturing growing by 8.3%. The added value of petroleum, coal, and other fuel processing industries increased by 7.8%; general equipment manufacturing increased by 5.7%; and railway, shipbuilding, aerospace, and other transportation equipment manufacturing increased by 12.7%. In terms of products, the development of the robotics and drones industries is strong, with the production of industrial robots, service robots, and civilian drones increasing by 32.1%, 17.3%, and 54.7% respectively; clean energy products are also performing well, with the production of wind turbines, solar cells, and new energy vehicles increasing by 43.3%, 81.5%, and 21.9% respectively.
