On September 19, Li Gao, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, stated at a press conference of the State Council Information Office that it is necessary to promote the establishment and implementation of a policy system for achieving carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. We will work together with relevant departments to actively promote energy and industrial transformation, upgrading, and green low-carbon development in key areas. We will strive to build the world's largest and fastest-developing renewable energy system. The total installed capacity of wind and solar power generation has already exceeded the 2030 national voluntary contribution target. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China's carbon dioxide emission intensity has continued to decrease. We are also actively controlling non-carbon dioxide greenhouse gas emissions by releasing plans to control methane and industrial nitrous oxide emissions, including hydrofluorocarbons in quota management, tightening the emission limits for coal mine gas from 30% to 8%, and strengthening control over methane emissions.
