The State Council Information Office held a thematic press conference on "high-quality completion of the '14th Five-Year Plan' this morning, inviting the person in charge of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment to introduce the situation of promoting high-quality development through high-level protection of the ecological environment. Relevant person in charge introduced that new progress has been made in the battle for pollution prevention and control. In the battle to defend the blue sky, clean heating reform in the northern regions is promoted in a targeted manner, with a total of 41 million households having completed coal replacement; nearly 20 million high-emission vehicles have been phased out in the '14th Five-Year Plan'. Focus on key areas to carry out targeted actions, with PM2.5 concentrations in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and surrounding areas, the Yangtze River Delta region, and the Fenwei Plain expected to decrease by 18%, 10%, and 20% respectively by 2024 compared to 2020.
