In July, overseas funds increased their holdings of US bonds, reaching a record high, while China's holdings fell to their lowest level since 2009.
According to the Finance and Economics APP, data released by the US Treasury Department on Thursday showed that in July, overseas investors continued to increase their holdings of US Treasuries, with the total holding size rising to $9.16 trillion, an increase of $31.9 billion compared to June, reaching a new record high. Despite a significant drop in China's holdings, the stronger increase in holdings by the UK and France has driven overall growth in the size of holdings.
