Saudi Arabia and Pakistan sign a joint strategic defense agreement

The governments of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan officially signed a joint strategic defense agreement in the Saudi capital Riyadh on September 17. According to the agreement, any attack by a third party against either country will be considered "aggression against both countries." Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif issued a joint statement after the meeting. The statement said that the two sides have signed a joint strategic defense agreement, which reflects their commitment to strengthening national security and achieving regional and global security and peace, aiming to develop defense cooperation between the two countries and strengthen joint deterrence against any aggression.
