On September 16th local time, American electric vehicle manufacturer Rivian held a groundbreaking ceremony for its factory in Georgia. The first phase of the project is expected to start production next year with plans to produce customer vehicles starting from 2028. After the second phase of the project is completed, the factory's annual production capacity is expected to reach up to 400,000 vehicles. The new factory investment is estimated to be in the billions of dollars and is expected to create 7,500 jobs by 2030.
