On September 17, 2025, the International Federation of University Sports Football World Cup officially opened in Dalian, Liaoning. Twenty-four teams from 17 countries on five continents, including Australia, France, and Spain, gathered to compete, including four Chinese university teams. The tournament includes men's and women's competitions, with 16 men's teams and 8 women's teams. During the event, 62 high-level matches will be played at various professional venues in Dalian, including the Suoyuwan Professional Football Stadium, Dalian Football Youth Training Base, and Dalian Sports Center.
