Meta launches multiple smart glasses, including the first pair with a built-in display screen.
Meta Platforms has announced the launch of the next generation of Ray-Ban smart glasses, with significantly extended battery life and video recording capabilities up to 3K. The new glasses are named Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 and will be priced starting at $379. Additionally, Meta has also introduced the first glasses with a built-in display screen, the latest model being the Meta Ray-Ban Display with a starting price of $799. These glasses have a screen built into the right lens, allowing users to display text messages, video calls, map directions, and visual search results from Meta AI services. This model also introduces a new control system, where users can still operate the glasses by sliding along the frame as with previous models, but the main interface is controlled through gestures recognized by a wristband worn on the hand. At the same time, Meta has also announced the launch of Oakley Vanguard smart glasses, targeting athletes as the primary users.
