On September 16, Minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development Ni Hong met with ASEAN Secretary-General Lim Jock Hoi who was in China to attend the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo. Ni Hong stated that the 2025 China-ASEAN Ministerial Roundtable Conference was successfully held, and China and ASEAN ministers reached a series of consensus on deepening and expanding cooperation through the "Guilin Initiative." The simultaneous holding of the China-ASEAN Building Technology Exhibition, China-ASEAN Mayors Forum, and China-ASEAN Construction Industry Cooperation and Development Forum provided a platform for urban governments and the construction industry to exchange, learn from each other, and cooperate for mutual benefit. The hosting model of the China-ASEAN Ministerial Roundtable Conference and the series of activities "One Conference, One Exhibition, Two Forums" has been widely recognized, and all participants are willing to promote the Ministerial Roundtable Conference to become an important aspect of dialogue and cooperation between China and ASEAN in professional fields. Lim Jock Hoi mentioned that the urbanization level in ASEAN countries is continuously rising, and the construction sector is a potential new direction for China-ASEAN cooperation. The China-ASEAN Ministerial Roundtable Conference has been held for three consecutive sessions, achieving fruitful results. The conference is held in China in one year and in an ASEAN member country in the next year, forming the "One Conference, One Exhibition, Two Forums" model. Ministers, mayors, entrepreneurs, and others actively participate, which is beneficial for creating more cooperation results. The ASEAN Secretariat is willing to provide support to ensure that this cooperation platform plays a greater role in China-ASEAN cooperation.
