China Merchants Shipping: Delivery of the world's first Methanol dual-fuel powered car carrier ship.

China Merchants Group announced on September 17, 2025, that one of its fully-owned single ship companies in Nantong City, Jiangsu Province has taken delivery of a 9300 CEU methanol dual-fuel powered car carrier "Hong Rong", making it the world's first large car carrier to utilize a methanol dual-fuel power system. This vessel is the first of two 9300 CEU methanol dual-fuel powered car carriers and four 7800 CEU methanol dual-fuel powered car carriers ordered by the company for delivery in 2023.
