Release of the road map for the development of new energy storage technology in the next ten years. The aim is to exceed 300 million kilowatts of installed capacity by 2035.
On September 17th, 2025, at the World Energy Storage Conference, Liu Xinyan, the Party Secretary and Deputy Director of the Equipment Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, released the "Development Roadmap for New Energy Storage Technologies". The development goals outlined in the roadmap are as follows: by 2027, the new energy storage industry will enter the initial stage of large-scale development, with a total installed capacity of new energy storage in China exceeding 180 million kilowatts; by 2030, the new energy storage industry will achieve comprehensive market-oriented development, with a total installed capacity of new energy storage in China exceeding 240 million kilowatts; by 2035, the total installed capacity of new energy storage in China will exceed 300 million kilowatts.
