At the press conference of the China International Maritime Exhibition held today, Tan Naifen, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Shipbuilding Industry Association, stated that the global economic and shipping industry growth face significant challenges. However, the trend of green development in the global shipping industry is irreversible and will play an important supportive role in the new shipbuilding market. It is expected that by 2025, the annual completion volume of shipbuilding in China will be around 51 million deadweight tons, with new orders slightly decreasing compared to the previous year, and the order backlog will be maintained at over 230 million deadweight tons. In 2024, China completed a shipbuilding volume of 48.18 million deadweight tons, with an order backlog of 209 million deadweight tons.
