The Japanese yen rose 0.6% to approach 146, while the euro, Swiss franc, Danish krone, and Polish zloty all rose by more than 1%.
On Tuesday, the New York session saw the US dollar fall by 0.62% against the Japanese yen, closing at 146.48 yen. The intraday trading range was between 147.54 and 146.28 yen. The euro rose by 0.23% against the Japanese yen, while the British pound fell by 0.30%. The euro also rose by 0.86% against the US dollar, and the British pound rose by 0.32%. The US dollar fell by 1.05% against the Swiss franc.
Among commodity currency pairs, the Australian dollar rose by 0.25% against the US dollar, while the New Zealand dollar rose by 0.29% and the US dollar fell by 0.31% against the Canadian dollar. The Swedish krona rose by 0.46% against the US dollar, the Norwegian krone rose by 0.66%, and the Danish krone rose by 0.87%. The Polish zloty and Hungarian forint both rose by 0.87% against the US dollar.
