Xichuan County immediately established a joint investigation team, organized public security, water conservancy, ecological environment, natural resources, and other relevant departments to quickly carry out investigations and verification. Currently, the public security authorities have control over 5 persons of responsibility, and the sand mining boats and related equipment involved in the case have been confiscated and sealed, and will be seriously dealt with according to the investigation results. At the same time, a comprehensive investigation and rectification of sand and gravel quarries and river sand mining operations throughout the county will be carried out to ensure legal compliance and river ecologic safety. The disciplinary inspection and supervision authorities have already been involved in the investigation of the departments and industries related to supervision responsibilities.
