In May of this year, the Jiangsu Provincial Government Office issued the "Several Measures for Implementing the Special Action Plan to Boost Consumption in Jiangsu Province", which proposed to encourage eligible areas to set the first three working days before the "May Day" holiday and the first three working days before the "National Day" holiday as the spring and autumn breaks for primary and secondary schools. With only two weeks remaining until the "National Day" holiday, many parents are concerned about whether the autumn break will be implemented, and some parents are worried about the possibility of leaving their children unattended during the autumn break. On September 16, officials from the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education stated that the spring and autumn breaks for primary and secondary schools are not mandatory requirements at the provincial level, and each district and city is studying the relevant matters and will make arrangements based on the different circumstances in each locality. Currently, Hangzhou City in Zhejiang Province and Foshan City in Guangdong Province have implemented the system of spring and autumn breaks for primary and secondary schools.
