S&P: It is expected that the Federal Reserve and the Bank of Canada will both cut interest rates by 25 basis points this week.

Standard & Poor's expects that this week the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates by 25 basis points to 4% to 4.25%, amid cooling employment data and persistent high inflation. They also anticipate another rate cut in the fourth quarter. The agency also predicts that the Bank of Canada will cut interest rates by 25 basis points to 2.5%, and may lower rates at least one more time this year.
