Technical conflict is the main reason, iPhone 17 Pro series has no chance of reverse wireless charging.

On September 15th, tech media 9to5Mac released a blog post reporting that Apple's iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max did not include the rumored reverse wireless charging feature. The media believes this is related to interference from the MagSafe magnetic wireless charging system. IT Home cited the media's report, explaining that MagSafe relies on magnetic precision positioning coils to reduce energy loss and stabilize the charging process. However, when an iPhone tries to reverse charge other devices, the magnetic field may interfere with each other's energy transmission, reducing efficiency or even preventing charging altogether. It is due to the use of magnetic precision positioning coils that the Apple iPhone 12 can wirelessly charge MagSafe battery packs, but for non-dedicated accessories such as another iPhone or AirPods, even if they can magnetically attach, the applicable scenarios are very limited.
